A strong bond / 強い絆

RfP Japan had a new year study meeting for peace on January 29th. The theme was ”Rebuilding the Fukushima Community after Nuclear Power Plant accident in 2011.

1月29日、RfP日本委員会は新年平和学習会を開催しました。テーマは2011年福島原発事故以降の福島コミュニティーの復興でした。

I used to be one of the task force members of the “East Japan Great Disaster”. My two colleagues of this task force made the keynote presentations.

私はRfP東日本大震災タスクフォースの一員でしたが、二人のメンバーが基調講演をおこないました。

As I was transferred to the Refugee Assistance Task Force two years ago, it was indeed a joyful reunion with them.

二年前に私は難民問題タスクフォースに異動したため、彼らとは二年ぶりの再会でした。

Since 2011, we spent lots of time together to assist the groups who devote to the community rebuilding after the radiation contamination destructed their communities.

放射能汚染によって破壊されたコミュニティーを復興する様々なグループを支援するため、2011年以来、沢山の時間を共に過ごした仲間です。

One of them is a medical doctor who dedicates to caring for people in Fukushima. We shared our common experience and confirmed our determination to work for people in Fukushima.

一人はお医者さんで福島の人々のために尽くしている方です。同じ活動に従事し、福島の人々のための活動に挺身することを誓い合った仲間です。

Our shared struggle for alliviating people’s sufferings strung made us genuine friends. We had a common objective, that is to say, helping people rebuild the community.

人々の苦しみを和らげるために共に努力をする中で、私達は真の友人になれたのです。つまり、コミュニティーを復興しようとする人々を支える、という同じ目的を持っていたのです。

I learned that the strong bonds and friendship are generated among people by going through together the real hard works for people in need of help.

支援を必要とする人々のために共に必死で働く、この共苦が強い絆、友情を生み出すものであることを私は学びました。

They make lifetime friends with each other. I feel the medical doctor is such a very indispensable friend for me.

生涯の友になるのです。そのお医者さんは私にとってはそういうかけがえのない友の一人であると思います。

How wonderful it is to live together with the shared commitment to the same purpose.

同じ目的に向かって共に汗を流す生き方ができるということはなんと素晴らしいことなのでしょう！

I had a very happy reunion with him on that day.

その日、私はとても幸せな再会を果たしたのでした。
