Blue Planet Earth/ 水の惑星 地球

While I was waiting for a commuting bus this morning, I saw a clear blue sky and pure white clouds. It was so peaceful and beautiful. Under the sky, people were walking briskly toward the station.

今朝、通勤バスを待ちながら、青い空と真っ白な雲を見つめていました。とても穏やかで美しい空でした。その空の下で人々が駅に向かって足早に歩いていました。

We, humans, live on the earth within the minimal space. This space is the only place where all lives are being protected to live. We are given whatever we need to live, namely air, water, greens, animals, and fishes, and so on.

私たち人間は地上のとても狭い空間で生きています。この空間のみがすべての生命体が守られて生きている場所なのです。空気、水、植物、動物、魚など、私たちが生きる上で必要なすべてのものが与えられているのです。

Then, I realized my life is being given and sustained by an infinite chain of other beings. How miraculous it is that I woke up this morning and am commuting to my office now.

私のいのちは他の存在の無限のつながりによって与えられ維持されていることにふと気付きました。今朝目覚めて、今オフィスに向けて通勤していることはなんと奇跡的なことなのでしょう。 Everyone will do something today. Some work, study, go to the hospital, rest and so on. I will go to my office and attend a couple of meetings till night today.

誰もが今日、何かをするのです。仕事、勉強、病院、お休みなど、人それぞれでしょう。私は、今日は仕事で、夜までいくつかの会合に出席します。

How shall I live today? I try my best to concentrate on each session mindfully, but I shall not forget to work with a deep appreciation for every being which gives me my miraculous life today.

今日、私はどのように生きるべきでしょうか？それぞれの会合に誠心誠意、集中して参加したいと思いますが。そこで忘れてならないのは、今日の私の奇跡のいのちを下さったすべての存在に対する深い感謝をもって働くことです。

We all live, and the mysterious blue planet Earth is sustaining our lives. It is what I felt from the bottom of my heart this morning.　I want to thank the blue sky and white clouds of this morning.

私たちは皆、この奇跡の水の惑星、地球に生かされて生きている。これが、今朝、私が心の底から感じたことです。今朝の青空と白い雲に感謝したいと思います。
