Gandhi left a famous word. ”There is no way to peace. Peace is the way.”

ガンジーは有名な言葉を残しました。「平和への道はない。平和が道なのだ。」

It’s a profound word. Usually, we think peace is a goal or an objective. There should be a way or methodology to reach it. However, Gandhi said peace is a way and means.

深遠な言葉です。普通、私たちは平和はゴールや目的と考えます。それに到達するための道や方法があると考えます。しかし、ガンジーは平和は道や方法であると言ったのです。

To what peace is a way, then? It’s a difficult question.

では、平和は何への道なのでしょうか？難しい問いです。

After thinking over this question, I became aware that peace doesn’t exist far from the reality in my life but exists in the attempt to realize it in my everyday life.

しばらくこの問いを考えました。そして、平和は私の現実から遠いところに存在するのではなく、私の日常で平和を実現しようとする試みの中に存在するのではないか、と思ったのです。

Although there may be no single answer to this question. I interpret the word of Gandhi in this way, and try to live on it.

この問いにたった一つの解があるとは思いません。しかし私はガンジーの言葉をこのように捉え、生きていきたいと思います。
