Secretary General’s statement on violent attacks in Sri Lanka / スリランカにおけるテロ行為に対する事務総長声明

A peaceful worshiping day was turned into one of the horrifying violence in Sri Lanka. We the people of the Asian Conference of Religions for Peace condemn this indiscriminative attack against peaceful worshippers and citizens.

スリランカにおける平和な祈りの日は一瞬にして恐ろしい暴力の日に変わってしまいました。アジア宗教者平和会議のメンバーである私たちは祈りをささげる人々と市民を無差別に攻撃したこの行為を非難します。

We show our solidarity with the victims and the people of Sri Lanka amid their sorrowful time.

この悲しみに満ちた時を過ごさねばならないスリランカの犠牲者と人々との連帯をここに表明します。

Our sympathies are with the families of the deceased and the wounded. We people of faiths and religions should address issues concerning the safety of all worship and prayer places.

命を奪われた方々のご遺族、そして傷ついた方々に衷心よりお悔やみとお見舞いを申し上げます。私たち宗教者、信仰者はすべての礼拝場所が安全に保護されることに全力で取り組まなければなりません。

The violent attack against peaceful worshippers and citizens is an abuse of universal human rights, and we all religious people must stand together to end this horrifying flow of phenomenon.

平和の中で祈りをささげ、生きる人々に対する暴力攻撃は普遍的人権の侵害です。私たち宗教者はこの恐ろしい暴力行為を終焉させるためにともに立ちあがなければなりません。

We ACRP members genuinely practice the message of our divine being that love and mercy for all peoples, based on the respect of equal dignity of all people, could only end the endless chain of hatred and violence.

私たちACRPのメンバーは、終わりなき憎しみと暴力の連鎖を断ち切ることができるのは、すべての人々の平等なる尊厳の尊重に基づいた愛と慈悲である、という神仏のメッセージを本気で実践します。

Let us unite together in our prayer and action for the restoration of peace in Sri Lanka.
