コンセプトの価値 / Value of concept

先日、テレビでイメージづくりに関する特集番組を見ました。そこで焦点が当てられていたのはコンセプトが果たす重要な役割でした。

I watched the featured TV program on making an image. It focused on the vital role of concept.

コンセプトとはわかりやすい明快な地図であり、それを元にロードマップができていき、結果的にはゴール達成のためのガイドラインになる、それ故にコンセプトは大切である、というものです。

It concluded that concept is crucial because it is a clear map on which road mapping can be done, and eventually becomes a guideline to arrive at a goal.

例えば、「優しくて力強いから美しい」というのは地震で大災害を被ったある村落の復興を目指すためのコンセプトになった、ということが紹介されていました。

For example, a story was introduced that ”it’s beautiful because it’s gentle and powerful” became the concept of aiming at the restoration of the mountain villages which were heavily damaged by the big earthquake.

コンセプトというと、単なる概念と思ってしまいがちですが、実はゴールに向けてのアプローチ方法を決める根本となるものである、ということがわかりました。

Although we tend to interpret concept merely as an idea, it becomes clear that the concept is a fundamental element to decide the approaching method toward the goal.

はじめにゴールを設定し、その到達を実現するための大本の地図を作る、ということになります。

It is to make an original map to arrive at a goal after setting up the goal.

宗教間対話によって調和的共生社会を築き上げる、というゴールを持つ私たちのコンセプトとは一体何なのか、しっかりと考えたいと思いました。

I thought I want to think over what our concept is, as people who have a goal of building a harmonious convivial society through interreligious dialogue.

「闇を照らす一筋の光」

”A ray of light which brightens the darkness.”

さて、これはコンセプトになっているかどうか、自信がありません。

I am not sure whether it is a concept or not.
