暴力の根底にあるものは怒り/ Anger at the bottom of the violence

最近も同時多発テロ行為が発生しました。その根底にあるものは何でしょか。排他主義、格差、優越主義、差別主義など、様々な思想、信条があると思いますが、怒りこそ、それらの主義、信条を暴力行為に駆り立てる根本的要因ではないかと思うのです。

Recently, a synchronized terrorist attack has taken place. What exists at the very bottom of the violence? Those might be exclusivism, discrepancy, superior-ism, discrimination, other thoughts and ideologies.  However, I believe anger is the fundamental cause of turning those isms and ideologies into violent action.

怒りは様々な暴力を産み出します。言葉、態度、表情、物理的な暴力などです。

Anger gives birth to various actions of violence, which include violence of speech, attitude, facial expression, and physical one, etc.

宗教は普遍的な愛、慈悲の教えと実践こそに価値を置くものであるにも拘わらず、その本質を見失うと、偏向した愛による分断や対立を引き起こす危険性を有するのです。 ですから宗教者、信仰者が最も求められることは自己の有する信仰が神や仏の本来のメッセージ、願いに基づいているのか、外れていないのかを常に吟味することではないかと思うのです。

Despite religion places value on teaching and practicing of universal mercy and compassion, it possesses the risk of generating division and confrontation by the biased love through losing sight of its essence. Therefore, what we people of faith are required most is always to examine sincerely if our faiths are based on the original messages and wishes of God and Buddha, if not erred from them.

私たちの説く愛と実践が普遍性を有したものなのか、偏向性を含んだものなのか、それによって、私たちの社会貢献性が大きく左右されるのです。

Our potential of social contribution will be significantly influenced by the degree as to how much the love we speak and practice possess universality or biased views.

近年は無差別の暴力行為が多発し、その犠牲になるのは殆どが一般市民であり、子供、老人も含まれます。スリランカでも多くの人が犠牲になりました。

In recent years, many indiscriminative violent actions prevail in our world, and most victims are ordinary citizens including children and elderlies. Many people are victimized in Sri Lanka.

怒りによる暴力の連鎖を断ち切るためには命の無差別性に基づく愛と慈悲の実践と拡散しかないと思うのです。

I believe only practice and expansion of the love and compassion based on the indiscriminative respect of all beings can end the chain of violence caused by anger.

そのことに気づいている私たちは勇気を持って立ち上がっていかなければなりません。 We, who are aware of it, must stand together courageously.
