熱意・誠意・創意 / Enthusiasm, Sincerity, Creativity

人が仕事を成就するために欠かせないもの、それが熱意であり、誠意であり、創意です。熱意のないところには何物も生まれません。熱意、情熱こそ創造の源泉です。会社や組織を創業、創始した人はすべて例外なく、ただならぬ情熱の持ち主です。

What are the values indispensable for a person to accomplish one’s mission? They are enthusiasm, sincerity, and ingenuity. Nothing is born out of zeal. Enthusiasm and passion is the source of creation. Everyone who founded and started new companies or organizations is an owner of extraordinary passion without exemption.

パナソニックの創始者である松下幸之助氏の言葉です。

「二階に上りたいなぁ、ではまだまだである。なんとしても二階にのぼりたい。そんな熱意がはしごを生み出す」

Followings are the words of Mr. Konosuke Matsushita, the founder of Panasonic Company;

“It’s not enough at all if I only feel I want to go up to the second floor. By all means, I want to climb up to the second floor. Such an enthusiasm creates a ladder.”

この熱意と車の両輪をなすもの、それが誠意です。人間、情熱だけで突っ走っても、それなりにうまくいくものです。しかし、それはあくまでも一時期です。人間としての誠実さを欠くと必ずどこかで強さと方向性を見失います。

What makes one of the pair wheels of a car with enthusiasm is sincerity. Even if you rush with passion alone, it will work out somehow. However, it goes well only for a short time. If we lack the sincerity of human beings, we will surely lose our strength and sight of our direction.

「誠は扇の要」です。小さな要があることで扇はその形を保つことができるのです。要をはずせばばらばらになってしまいます。どんな才能、情熱があっても、誠実という要がなかったら、その人生は真の結実に至ることはできないのです。

“Sincerity is a point of a fan.” The small point of a fan makes it possible for a fan to keep its shape. If a point is disjointed, the fan will immediately break apart. No matter what talent or passion we may have, our life will not be able to bear a true fruit unless we don’t have sincerity.

「至誠神の如し」「至誠通天」ともいいます。誠心誠意を尽くすとき、人間業とは思えない、さながら神の仕業のようなことが出現するという人生の法則です。

There is a saying which goes, “Genuine Sincerity is just like God” or “Genuine Sincerity connects with heaven.” It is a law of human life that things like God’s work not in the least human’s work will appear in the world when we wholeheartedly devote to live in and practice sincerity.

そして創意です。絶えず創意工夫するのです。昨日よりは今日、今日よりは明日と常に未来に向かって前進するために、ああしよう、こうしようと考え続けるのです。そこに仕事の飛躍が生まれます。

And here comes creativity.  We need to continue making creative efforts.  We shall keep thinking over what we do for always advancing toward future from yesterday to today, from today to tomorrow.  In this effort, a leap in our work will be generated.

熱意・誠意・創意 はまさしく人生と社会にとって欠かせない価値であり意志なのです。

Enthusiasm, Sincerity, and Creativity are the most important values and will for our life and society.
